Get your first ASN from RIPE NCC LIR Sponsor

There are a lot of LIRs that can sponsor your resourance; however, it normally won’t be free since there are no free dinners in the world, but generally, and fairly to say it, most of the prices are reasonable and fairly cheap because if you want to get the ASN directly from RIPE NCC, you need to have a LIR account, which already cost you at least 1600 euros. Here is a summary list of ASN sponsors that I found that you may consider choosing. In the BGP world, there are wars too, for example, August vs. Cloudie (Route 48), Misaka, etc., which may cause inconvenience while getting service from both sides. Every step takes time because there are many more actual business needs to address with RIRs, and you are not the only one using their resources. But for ASNs, it usually just takes two days to a week, depending on whether you have all the documents required for the resources and if you are underage. If you are underage, you may be required to ask your guardian to sign a document stating that your guardian knows you are applying for internet resources and a legal disclaimer.

All you have to do is fill it out, print it using the relevant information from the previous paragraph (really, Google Docs or Adobe PDF should work as it needs to be sent as a PDF to the RIPE LIR Portal), sign it, and send it to your LIR.

Although there are many different providers available, these are some tips from our experience.
Because RIPE NCC is smart but not enough yet. In the past, they said they couldn’t determine if only RIPE NCC coverage IP addresses showed. So, Vultr would be easier because on their client portal, there is a large country flag that can show where the server is located.

Depending on RIRs, you can be asked to upload an identity document for fraud prevention. For instance, RIPE NCC Use a third party with the same flow while you apply to a virtual bank to verify your identification. APNIC requires you to upload your identity in photo format; there are currently no requirements for ARIN, but you must apply through a firm.

Agreement between you and sponsor company

Most of the time, LIR will send you an online signature from a third party, like Pandadoc, depending on company policies.
